Predictive advertising company names Lisa Utzschneider as Interim CEO and Board Chair as Nick Troiano moves into a strategic advisor role
Cadent, a predictive advertising company, has announced a leadership transition as it prepares for its next phase of growth and continued expansion.
After more than 10 years of growth and transformation, Cadent CEO Nick Troiano and the company’s Board of Directors have agreed to begin the transition to a new permanent chief executive. During Troiano’s tenure, Cadent expanded from approximately 200 employees to more than 600, more than tripled its revenue, and strengthened its technology and market capabilities through acquisitions and continued investment.
Under Troiano’s leadership, Cadent also evolved beyond its television roots to become a predictive advertising company. The company recently launched its unified Cadent Platform, bringing together converged TV and digital media and establishing a technology foundation for its next stage of development.
To guide the transition, Lisa Utzschneider, Special Advisor to Novacap Management Inc., has been appointed Cadent’s Interim CEO and Chair of the Board, effective immediately. She will work closely with the executive leadership team to advance the company’s strategy, support employees and customers, strengthen partner relationships, and continue developing Cadent’s predictive advertising capabilities.
Troiano will remain involved as a strategic advisor, supporting Utzschneider, the Board and the executive team throughout the transition process.
Utzschneider brings extensive experience in advertising, technology and media. She previously served as CEO of Integral Ad Science, where she oversaw the company’s global expansion, and currently serves as Special Advisor to the IAS Board. Prior to joining IAS, she held senior leadership roles at Yahoo!, Amazon and Microsoft, where she contributed to growth initiatives spanning digital advertising, cloud and enterprise technology.
“The advertising industry is undergoing significant change, creating new opportunities for companies that can connect technology, data and media to deliver better outcomes,” said Utzschneider. “Nick and the Cadent team have built a strong company well positioned for continued growth. I look forward to working closely with Cadent’s executive team to execute the Company’s strategy and drive growth. I will also work closely with the Board to identify the Company’s permanent CEO and ensure a seamless transition.”
David Brassard, Partner at Novacap and a member of Cadent’s Board, praised Troiano’s contributions during his more than decade-long tenure.
“Nick has led Cadent through a period of significant growth and transformation for more than a decade, building a strong company, leadership team and strategic foundation for the future,” Brassard said. “On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Nick for his leadership, vision and commitment to Cadent and its employees, customers and partners.”
Brassard added that Utzschneider’s leadership experience and background in advertising technology will be valuable as the Board conducts its search for Cadent’s permanent CEO.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to lead Cadent,” Troiano said. “I am immensely proud of what we have built and the transformation we have accomplished together. I am especially grateful to our employees, customers and partners for their trust and commitment to our Company.”
Troiano also highlighted the company’s expanded workforce, broader capabilities and technology platform, noting that Cadent is positioned to pursue new opportunities as the advertising industry continues to evolve. He will support the leadership team and Board in ensuring a smooth transition as Cadent begins its next chapter.
