New solution discovers distributed digital assets, automates brand and compliance checks, and prioritizes risks without requiring content migration
Aprimo, a provider of digital asset management (DAM) and content operations solutions, has launched Content Portfolio Management (CPM), an AI-powered governance solution designed to discover, monitor and assess content across enterprise ecosystems, including assets stored outside centralized DAM platforms.
As generative AI accelerates content production, organizations face growing challenges in maintaining brand consistency, enforcing compliance and tracking digital assets across distributed environments. Content often resides across websites, cloud storage, partner portals, content management systems and external repositories, leaving brand and compliance teams with limited visibility into what is published and whether it meets organizational requirements.
Aprimo’s CPM aims to address these challenges by extending governance beyond the DAM, applying brand, compliance and quality policies across distributed content without requiring organizations to migrate their files into a central system.
“AI is driving every organization to create an order of magnitude more content than ever,” said Erik Huddleston, CEO of Aprimo. He added that existing governance tools and approaches are struggling to keep pace with the volume of content being produced, making it necessary to monitor compliance both where content is created and wherever violations occur.
CPM combines three core capabilities to help organizations gain visibility into distributed content and manage associated risks.
Mesh discovers content across websites, file storage systems, partner portals and social media accounts. It creates a unified visibility layer without requiring assets to be moved into a DAM. Each asset is fingerprinted, checked for duplication against known DAM content and mapped to its source location.
The solution also uses Aprimo’s Open Agent Framework to run AI-powered governance processes beyond the boundaries of the DAM. Three types of agents support different tasks:
These agents are designed to automate content assessments and help teams identify issues across a broader range of repositories.
The third component, the Portfolio Risk Dashboard, organizes findings by region, brand, asset type and severity. AI-recommended prioritization helps teams focus on issues with the greatest potential business impact and assign corrective actions according to risk.
The launch comes amid rising asset volumes and increased pressure on organizations to maintain consistent standards across digital channels. According to industry research cited in the announcement, 65% of organizations report year-over-year growth in asset volumes, while only 31% can consistently enforce brand guidelines across their content.
By extending governance beyond centralized repositories, CPM is intended to help organizations address gaps in oversight that can emerge as content is distributed across internal teams, external partners and multiple digital platforms.
Huddleston said the platform combines persistent, orchestrated AI with existing team workflows to accelerate execution while strengthening governance. He added that organizations relying on static-asset management approaches may struggle to keep pace with changing content demands.
Aprimo identifies several use cases for Content Portfolio Management, including continuous monitoring of live websites against approved DAM versions, oversight of partner and dealer websites, and identification of expired campaign assets.
The solution can also extend compliance checks across distributed storage systems, helping organizations locate content that may otherwise remain outside established governance processes.
These capabilities are intended to reduce reliance on manual reviews and help teams identify outdated, inconsistent or noncompliant assets more efficiently.
Helen of Troy, a consumer products company, has used CPM to automate governance across its websites. According to Suzzette Freedlander, art director for the company’s Beauty and Wellness Brands, the platform is helping teams identify accessibility and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance risks across their content ecosystem.
“CPM’s automated compliance agents are transforming how we flag accessibility and ADA compliance risks across our entire content ecosystem,” Freedlander said. She added that the solution enables the company to manage compliance across its brands at the scale and speed required by the business.
The launch reflects a broader shift in enterprise content operations, as organizations seek ways to manage not only the creation and storage of digital assets but also their use across distributed environments.
By combining content discovery, automated policy checks and risk-based prioritization, Aprimo aims to help businesses maintain oversight of their content portfolios without requiring every asset to reside in a single repository. The approach positions AI-powered governance as a complement to traditional DAM systems as content production and distribution become increasingly complex.
